We are seriously considering a new relationship advice call-in show to help with the thousands of users coming to our site for help with their most important relationships. It would be a huge help for us to answer the following questions in our survey. If you’d like, leave us any comments you want about what you would like for the show and other thoughts you might have.
The 100th survey filled out wins The Comedy of Love DVD by me! It’s my first comedy show ever, and I think you’ll enjoy it (at least I hope you will).
I am so thankful that I did not grow up in the age of Internet pornography! In my day, if you wanted to see porn you had to go to the local 7/11 and ask for it in person. Â That was easily a big enough deterrent to me not buying or seeing porn. Â Now all you have to do is shut the door and hope no one you know comes in and sees you!
Check out my podcast interview conducted by Luke Gilkerson from Covenant Eyes to hear this topic unpacked more thoroughly.
Alright! My last post on the issue of porn and marriage has created quite the stir! Â I love a healthy debate and I appreciate all the people posting comments, even the ones I do not agree with. Here is part two of my interview with Covenant Eyes’ Luke Gilkerson. Â I hopefully unpack in a logical and understanding way how porn hurts a couple and their ability to experience legitimate intimacy.
Sorry it has taken me this long to get our second edition of the Smalley Family devotional! Remember, these are unedited and uncut (and slightly disturbing). My hope is that you get encouragement to do your own family devotionals because you experience that they are not as clean, organized, and perfect when I do them.
The verse is James 1:5 and is from The Message:
5 If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to when you ask for it.
By the way, you won’t believe how Reagan worked the word “cheese” into this devotional. It is quite hilarious!
Questions you can ask the kids:
What kinds of questions can you ask God?
Does God seem interested in our problems?
Is there any problem that we can have that God would laugh at or ignore?
I can not believe I’m doing this, but (because apparently I am going to do this) we are now recording our family devotionals, unedited and completely uncut! First, my hope is that you will use these as a stepping stone to having your own family devotionals. Â Second, that you will experience all the raw, dysfunction of our own family and not feel so bad about your own (this was sarcasm for those of you who do not know me). Continue Reading
